Quarries

From quarry to project

Before it becomes a countertop, a façade, a piece of furniture or a building, every stone travels a path. At Paraná, that journey begins at the source.

Our own quarries · Paraná and Minas Gerais

To know the origin is to know the stone better.

With our own quarries in Paraná and Minas Gerais, we follow the material closely from extraction through processing and selection, all the way to the projects where it takes on a new purpose.

Branco Paraná

Our quarry in the state of Paraná is the source of Branco Paraná Marble and of the many patterns in the Paraná portfolio. Each pattern reveals its own combination of colors, veining and movement.

Café Imperial

Minas Gerais is home to the Café Imperial PR Granite quarry, one of the classic materials in the Paraná portfolio.

Minas Gerais is also where the material’s processing plant has operated since 2006. Two key origins in a journey built on a deep knowledge of stone.

The process

From natural formation to application.

At Paraná, we oversee every stage, from the quarry to slab selection, respecting the character of the material and revealing its potential in architecture, design and furniture.

Stone in its natural formation
01

Origin

It all begins with the natural formation of the stone. Time, terrain and geological processes shape each material and help define its character, colors and patterns.

Extraction

Our relationship with the material continues in our own quarries. This is when the stone leaves its natural setting and begins to take on new possibilities.

Processing

After extraction, the material goes through several processing stages. This is where technology, know-how and precision meet what nature has created.

Selection

Every slab is unique. Veining, color, movement, dimensions and finish are all considered so that each material finds the applications best suited to its character.

Project

In architecture, design and furniture, the stone takes on a new purpose. From stone to space, without losing sight of its origin.

Sustainability

Caring for the source is part of the process.

Working with natural resources demands responsibility at every stage. At Paraná, that care shows in the preservation of natural areas, the cultivation of native species and the monitoring of the springs on our properties.

More than 50 hectares are set aside as permanent preservation areas, while our nurseries grow over 6,000 seedlings a year.

Hand cream

Care that begins with the material.

Paraná’s hand cream was born from the desire to turn material that would otherwise be discarded into a new experience. By repurposing dolomite residue, we developed a vegan, cruelty-free formula designed to care for the skin while reflecting a more mindful relationship with resources.

The care extends to the process. This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to reduce waste, reuse materials and make more responsible use of natural resources.

From what nature provides, new possibilities.
